Church Constitution Presbytery Elder C.G. Myers - Moderator The church began meeting in the Seminole Community Center near Niceville, Florida, and later purchased a house on Pine Street. The services were conducted by Elder Edward Morgan of Pensacola and Elder John Rice who lived nearby. Elder Kenneth Cadle moved to Florida in 1979 and he and his wife, Sister Patty, became members of Palm Chapel. Elder Morgan asked to be relieved of his pastoral duties at Palm Chapel due to increased needs at Pleasant Home Church in Pensacola and Elder Cadle was chosen as the new pastor in 1980. During his tenure as pastor the church began meeting each Sunday and Wednesday for worship and the Baptist Bible Hour was sponsored by Palm Chapel on the local Christian radio station. The meeting house on Pine Street was renovated but that building soon became inadequate for the increased attendance and the decision was made to construct a new meeting house in Crestview to better serve the growing number of members in that area. The Pine Street building was sold in less than a week and the congregation began meeting on Sunday evenings in a building provided by the First Baptist Church of Crestview. A rental property located on Highway 85 in Crestview was then used for the next two years as the new meeting house was being constructed in the newly developed Countryview Estates in Crestview. The congregation moved into its new quarters for its first service on Sunday, August 27, 1995. The first sermon in the new building was preached by Elder Armond Ritch of Birmingham, Alabama. The Dedication Service was observed on Sunday afternoon, February 25, 1996, with a dedication sermon by Elder Lasserre Bradley, Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio, director of the Baptist Bible Hour. In January, 1998, Elder Cadle announced his resignation as pastor at the age of 83 but agreed to continue to serve until a new pastor was chosen. Several ministers visited during the ensuing months and among them was a young college student who had not yet been ordained. Michael Green, Jr., visited the church several times and was eventually called as pastor following his ordination as a minister of the gospel at Macclenny PBC in Macclenny, Florida. At the age of 22 he assumed his pastoral duties in June, 1999, shortly after his marriage to Sarah Semadeni of Arizona. As the north Okaloosa County area continued its population growth so did the congregation at Palm Chapel. Elder Green began a radio program, The Banner of Grace, which contained excerpts of sermons from the pulpit of Palm Chapel. In December, 2008, Elder Green resigned as pastor to accept the pastoral care of Ft. Wayne PBC in Indiana. Elder James Conley accepted pastoral care of Palm Chapel in February, 2010. A graduate of the Air Force Academy, Elder Conley was living in Crestview while he was assigned to Eglin Air Force Base. Elder Conley completed his commitment to the military in June, 2010, and the Lord has blessed him to devote more of his time to the ministry of Jesus Christ. He and his wife, Jenny, and their infant son, Levi, have proven to be welcome additions to Palm Chapel. Since its organization in 1971, Palm Chapel has recognized the spiritual gifts the Lord has given to the church and ministers have been ordained to preach the gospels of Jesus Christ. They are: Elder Robert Moran The members of Palm Chapel Primitive Baptist Church are grateful for the outpouring of God's blessings upon us and for sending God-called ministers to preach the sacrificial gift by Jesus Christ of eternal salvation for the elect family of God. We especially treasure the warmth of the fellowship among the members and friends who faithfully attend the worship services in this place.
